Wrangler (yes, Wrangler) ad campaign

I keep reading the word ‘controversy’ in reference to the new Wrangler ads, meaning the company’s marketing team is already getting exactly what it wants. The ads, shot by Ryan McGinley, feature young, half-naked models posed suggestively in some wet wilderness.

Maybe it’s because Wrangler—the perpetually un-hip cowboy denim brand—is doing it, but the concept is far from fresh and certainly not worth a ruckus, even the shots that look a little CSI.

The only thing this means to me is that Wrangler is on its way to becoming hipster gold faster than Pabst Blue Ribbon.

oh, and

the location of this gunky, swamp-like oblivion? New Jersey ; )
