Klein+Pawson=Perfection

According to WWD, Calvin Klein Inc. is giving its friends, family and hometown a gift for its 40th anniversary.

Over the years, the company has developed quite the reputation for throwing big events, and the Sept. 7 party to fete the brand’s 40th year in business is equally ambitious in its scope. The event will be held in a purpose-built provisional John Pawson structure adjacent to the much-anticipated High Line. Guests that evening will be able to get a tour of a portion of the High Line, the first section of which is scheduled to open before the end of the year.

The High Line is a 1.5-mile, 22-block-long former elevated railway the city of New York being redeveloped into a 6.7-acre public park and promenade that stretches from West 34th Street to the Meatpacking District.

Spotted...303 Gallery

I love it when parties are thrown for no real reason, like last Wednesday’s little relocation get-together at the new W 21st Street space for the 303 Gallery.

If you weren’t surveying the art or slamming down screwdrivers then you were probably looking at Stam, or should have been, because she looks great...always.

Anyway, a Doug Aitken exhibition is coming to the 303 this September, just in time for my birthday. For those unfamiliar, Aitken is a an American multimedia artist who first caught my attention last year with his MoMA exhibit, Sleepwalkers. Good stuff.
